Wafcol...leading the way with sensitive diets
Developed with leading Dermatologists and Veterinarians, Wafcol dog food has been leading the way with Sensitive Diets and has been specially developed to be sensitive on the digestive system. Unlike many other sensitive pet foods, Wafcol is a true sensitive recipe as many of the ingredients known to be high risk for allergies and sensitivities are excluded from the food. With Salmon as the single protein source and Potato as the main carbohydrate source, Wafcol Salmon & Potato is the perfect diet for dogs with allergies and/or sensitivities.
Wafcol may help soothe allergic reactions including eczema, diarrhoea, dermatitis and colitis with improvement possible after as little as 6-12 weeks of feeding and provides a cost effective alternative to most Veterinary and Prescription Diets.
Wafcol key ingredients explained
Salmon: Salmon is a palatable protein source which is rich in omega fatty acids. The hydrolysed salmon and salmon meal used in Wafcol are sourced from Scotland and are naturally stabilised by the use of mixed tocopherols, rosemary extract and lecithin, which all work synergistically to have an anti-oxidant effect.
Potato: Potatoes are an excellent carbohydrate source and provide an alternative to cereal carbohydrate sources for dogs that require a sensitive diet, making Wafcol Salmon and Potato dog food one of the best selling foods on the market. Potato starch is also used as a thickening ingredient due to the fact our diets are manufactured without wheat gluten.
Corn: Corn (or maize) is an excellent carbohydrate source within an extruded diet and is often used as a replacement for wheat. Corn is used in two of our diets within the sensitive range; Chicken & Corn and Ocean Fish & Corn, however if a cereal free diet is desired the Salmon & Potato diet fulfils this need.
Joint Support: Glucosamine, Chondroitin Sulphate and Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM) are building blocks used in the body to help support and maintain healthy joints.
Vitamins, Minerals & Trace Elements: Wafcol dog food is nutritionally complete and provides a full complement of vitamins and minerals necessary for growth, repair and maintenance. This includes essential macro and micro trace elements such as calcium, phosphorous, sodium, potassium, zinc, iron, iodine and copper. The vitamins included in the diets cover the fat soluble vitamins such as Vitamin A, D, E and K, along with the water soluble vitamins such as B1, B6, B12, Folic Acid and Pantothenic acid.
Linseed: Linseed (or Flaxseed as it is also known) is a rich source of omega-3 fatty acid and helps to promote healthy skin and superb coat condition.
Lupin: Lupins are related to legumes such as peanuts, peas, lentils and beans. Lupin seeds can be ground up to make a flour which is used to replace wheat and other cereal products in our gluten free diets.
Ocean Fish: Fish meal is an excellent source of protein and fish oil. Wafcol only source their fish from sustainable sources in the Pacific Ocean and is naturally preserved.
Poultry: Poultry meal is an excellent protein source and offers an alternative to a red meat diet. Wafcol do not use any poultry meal from battery reared chickens in their dog food.
Seaweed: Seaweed is rich in iodine which is an important trace mineral that is necessary for many functions including the growth and repair of tissues and to help promote healthy skin and hair.
Soya: Soya is a natural source of plant based protein. Soya flour can be used as an alternative to wheat when a gluten free diet is required.
Sunflower Oil: Sunflower oil is a natural vegetable oil that is a good source of Omega-6 fatty acid (linolenic acid)
Prebiotic MOS & FOS: MOS (mannan-oligosaccharides) and FOS (fructo-oligosaccharides) help promote optimal nutritional uptake and remove harmful bacteria, reducing digestive upsets.
